Farewell to Nova Scotia Part Three!

The Sisterhood views vacation time as an opportunity for fun and frivolity. We have often found the bar/lounge atmosphere to be of particular assistance in that regard and our Nova Scotia trip proved no exception.
.
On a whim, we decided to forgo our usual Pinot Grigio (Big Sis), Prosecco (Middle Sis), and Beer (Little Sis) in favor of a pitcher (or two) of Sangria.
.
For some reason, Big Sis kept referring to it as “Sangarita.” This was an unfortunate misstep because Middle and Little immediately jumped on it. The implication of course being that Big Sis had over indulged. Nothing could be further from the truth!
It was merely a”creative slip of the tongue.”
.
It is highly likely that this will continue to haunt Big Sis in the long term. She is, however, determined to rise above it all and take the high road. As traumatic as this experience has been, she will survive😊.
.
Nova Scotia was both exciting and exhausting, and we are in need of a period of recuperation, so we are taking a short summer break. See you again in mid September. Cheers.

Farewell to Nova Scotia Part Two

Little Sis decided to travel with some cash on our trip to Nova Scotia. Not really an issue until she realized there wasn’t a safe in our hotel room. Being the creative one that she is, she decided to stash her cash in the freezer compartment of our fridge.
.
All was well until the Sisterhood had to change rooms and in the shuffle she forgot about the cash stashed in the freezer. After about an hour she realized that she had left it behind.
.
A panicked call to the manager thankfully allowed her to retrieve the cash. The look on the manager’s face when she pulled the cash envelope out of the freezer was priceless. When he asked her why she had cash in the freezer, she replied, cool as a cucumber, (no pun intended) “it’s just my walking around money,” giving a whole new meaning to the phrase “cold, hard cash.” 🤣

Middle Sis really likes to relax on vacation. Really, really relax. So much so that she decided to attend the breakfast room at the Inn where they were staying in her nightgown and robe. This brought a few strange looks and raised eyebrows from other patrons, but Middle Sis just smiled and sipped her coffee- she was on vacation people! A few days later she did attend the breakfast room fully dressed which was met with “I didn’t recognize you without your bathrobe,” from the lady who served breakfast. Rest assured that this did not deter Middle Sis from wearing her robe to breakfast for the rest of their stay. 🤣

Big Sis starts us off with details of her recent trip to Australia. She and hubby saw some spectacular scenery along The Great Ocean Road, learned a bit of Australian history and spent quality time with their daughter. It was not,however, without some “glitches.”

The above picture is her passport and if you think it looks a bit worse for the wear, you would be right. (Notice the fold lines in the upper right corner and the passport binding which has certainly seen better days.)

Given that she receives so many packages that she’s on a first name basis with the Amazon delivery person, this was nothing out of the ordinary. However, when the contents were revealed and no one claimed ownership, she immediately went into detective mode to discover the origin of this mysterious package.

… it could be a highland dancer and, as a former highland dancer, Middle Sis knows the importance of proper foot “turnout.”

And so, in preparation for the upcoming Sisterhood trip to Antigonish Nova Scotia, where not only will they be doing a 5km race, but will also be attending the Antigonish Highland Games, Middle Sis is practicing her turnout and taking a little trip down Highland Fling memory lane.
